Job summary

TotalMed Allied is seeking a travel Speech-Language Pathologist for a travel assignment in Billings, MT. The role is 32 hours per week for 13 weeks with 8-hour day shifts.

Immediate opening requires 1 year of experience (6 months acceptable for exceptional candidates) and ASHA-SLP certification with state licensure. As an SLP you will evaluate and treat patients with speech, voice, or swallowing impairments in an acute care setting and prepare treatment plans accordingly.

Qualifications

• Must have 6 months to 1 year of experience; exceptional candidates with 6 months may be considered.
• ASHA-SLP National Certification and state-specific licensing are required.
• BLS certification is required to practice in the assignment.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, treat, and prevent speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
• Create treatment and therapy plans to meet individual patient needs.
• Perform screenings to detect voice or speech disorders.
• Educate patients and family members about speech disorders and causes.
• Report progress and current status to appropriate parties (family, teachers, medical professionals).
• Provide timely and accurate documentation following state/insurance guidelines.

We are looking for a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) for an immediate travel opening in Billings, MT. The right SLP should have 1 year of experience; for an exceptional candidate with an appropriate background, 6 months of experience may be accepted. Read below for additional requirements.

As an SLP, you will be responsible for assisting patients with speech, voice, or swallowing impairments and evaluating and developing a plan of care for a variety of patient populations in the acute care setting.

Tasks

• Diagnose, treat, and prevent speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
• Create treatment and therapy plans to suit the individualized needs of a diverse population of patients.
• Perform screenings to detect voice or speech disorders.
• Educate patients and family members about speech disorders and causes, including disabilities and traumatic events.
• Report progress and current status to appropriate parties, which may include family members, teachers, or medical professionals.
• Provide timely and accurate documentation following state and/or insurance guidelines.

Requirements

Must have 6 months of experience; however, new grads are encouraged to apply. Must have BLS and ASHA-SLP National Certification with state-specific licensing.

Speech-Language Pathologists should be able to stand and walk for long periods of time, as well as bend, lean or stoop without difficulty. SLPs must have a sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology and medical terminology.
