Job summary

Amergis is seeking a Special Education Teacher to deliver quality services to students from kindergarten through 12th grade in a travel setting. The role emphasizes collaboration with the Special Education Program Administrator and general education staff to plan, implement, and consult on individualized student programs.

The candidate should have a bachelor’s degree and appropriate state certification, with preference for LBS1 endorsement and prior teaching experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university preferred.
• Valid state teaching certificate as required by state, contract/district regulations.
• Minimum of one year experience in teaching environment preferred.
• Current CPR if applicable.
• TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable.
• Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation).
• Must meet all federal, state and local requirements.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Provides quality services to special education students (K–12).
• Participates in planning and implementation of student programs.
• Includes special instruction, tutorial assistance and consultation with general education staff.
