Job summary

Healthforce Healthcare LLC is seeking a Speech Language Pathologist for an acute care travel assignment in Middletown, RI. Start date is 11/09/2026 for 13 weeks with 35 guaranteed hours per week and a 5x8 schedule (08:00–16:30).

Responsibilities include comprehensive assessments, individualized treatment plans, direct therapy, documentation, and collaboration with an interdisciplinary team to ensure resident safety and communication effectiveness.

Qualifications

• Active licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist; state-specific requirements apply.
• Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology.
• ASHA CCC-SLP certification or equivalent preferred.
• Experience in acute care or long-term care settings is preferred.
• Authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments of speech, language, cognitive-communication, voice, and swallowing for residents.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans with measurable goals; monitor progress.
• Provide direct therapy to residents and adjust plans based on response and safety considerations.
• Perform swallowing evaluations and modify therapies or dietary consistencies as appropriate.
• Document evaluation findings, treatment plans, and progress in resident charts; ensure timely and accurate reporting.
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary care team (nursing, therapy, social work, and other staff) to optimize communication, feeding safety, and overall resident well-being.
• Educate residents, families, and care staff on communication strategies, swallowing safety, and assistive technology as needed.
