Job summary

TotalMed Allied seeks a Speech-Language Pathologist for a travel assignment in Waldorf, MD. The role requires 1 year of SLP experience (6 months accepted for exceptional candidates), BLS and ASHA-SLP certification with state licensing, and the ability to work in an acute care setting. Duties include evaluating and planning care and educating patients and families.

Duration is 13 weeks with 35 hours per week, days shift. Travel employment, with benefits and weekly pay through TotalMed Allied.

Qualifications

• 1 year of SLP experience preferred; exceptional candidates with 6 months may be considered.
• Must have BLS and ASHA-SLP National Certification with state licensing.
• Ability to stand/walk for long periods and knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, treat, and prevent speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
• Create individualized treatment and therapy plans.
• Perform screenings to detect voice or speech disorders.
• Educate patients and family members about speech disorders and causes.
• Report progress to families, teachers, or medical professionals.
• Provide timely documentation following state/insurance guidelines.
