Job summary

American Traveler is looking for a Sleep Technologist for a 16-week night shift contract in Illinois. The role requires 2+ years of polysomnography experience and RPSGT certification.

You will work 12-hour nights, with weekend and holiday coverage, and may float between two labs (Old Orchard and Swedish). Incumbents should be able to work independently, communicate effectively with patients and staff, and have Epic EMR experience.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of polysomnography experience including PAP titration and ASV titration.
• RPSGT certification and current BLS/CPR required.
• License required if applicable.
• New graduates will not be considered.
• Nihon Kohden PolySmith experience preferred.
• Prior independent overnight sleep lab experience preferred.
• Must work independently and communicate effectively with patients and staff.

Responsibilities

• Perform polysomnography and related sleep studies in a sleep lab.
• Work 12-hour night shifts, 8:00 PM–8:30 AM.
• Cover every other weekend and holidays.
• Floating between two sleep labs (Old Orchard and Swedish).
• On-call requirement of two days, or reside within 30 miles of the facility.
• Epic EMR experience required.
• Provide safe, high-quality patient care through overnight monitoring and sleep study procedures.
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate.
• Returning permanent or per diem staff must be away for 12 months before being eligible as a traveler.
• RTO maximum of 3 days for 8-week contracts and 7 days for 13-week contracts.
• First-time travelers may be considered if experience requirements are met.
