Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. is seeking an experienced RN for an Operating Room position in a rural hospital setting. The role requires circulating and scrub nurse competency and flexibility to adapt to fluctuating surgical volumes.

The schedule is straight day shift with 8s, 10s, or 12s options and 40 hours weekly. On-call duties during weekdays only; no weekend call. Cases include C-sections, hand surgery, podiatry, cataracts, general surgery, gynecology, ENT, and endoscopy.

Qualifications

• Active RN license (ND or Compact)
• Current BLS certification required; ACLS and PALS as required by facility
• Demonstrated competency in both circulating and scrub nurse roles
• Experience in a rural surgical services setting preferred
• Proficiency across multiple surgical specialties required

Responsibilities

• Rural hospital OR/Surgery department setting
• Serves surgical patients across preoperative, intraoperative, and immediate postoperative phases
• Cases include C-sections, hand surgery, podiatry, cataracts, general surgery, gynecology, ENT, and endoscopy
• Straight day shift schedule with flexible hour options (8s, 10s, or 12s), 40 hrs/week
• On-call required during the week only, with no weekend call
• Call coverage limited to C-sections
• Function as circulating nurse by coordinating patient care, maintaining sterile environment, and documenting procedures
• Function as scrub nurse by maintaining the sterile field, preparing instruments/supplies, and maintaining accurate counts
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, surgical technologists, and perioperative team members
• Participate in emergency and trauma procedures as needed
• Assist with inventory management, equipment troubleshooting, quality improvement, and orientation of new staff
• Demonstrate flexibility to adapt to fluctuating surgical volumes and expanded responsibilities common in rural healthcare settings
• Promote a culture of patient safety, teamwork, and professionalism
