Travel RRT - Night Shift in Critical Care

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) for a night shift position requiring 2+ years of recent critical care experience and current state licensure.

The successful candidate will float to multiple hospital areas, perform airway and ventilator management, and deliver medications per physician orders. Epic EMR experience, travel history, and a strong commitment to patient safety are essential for this role.

Qualifications

• Active RRT certification required; CRT not accepted
• SC Respiratory Care Provider (RCP) license required in hand at time of start, if applicable
• BLS, ACLS, NRP, and PALS certifications required in hand at time of start
• Minimum 2 years of recent critical care experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Prior travel assignment experience required
• Skilled in ventilator management, including BiPAP, CPAP, and weaning from mechanical ventilation
• Experience with airway management including intubation/extubation assist, tracheostomy care, and suctioning
• Experience with ABG interpretation and basic EKG
• Experience with medication administration including bronchodilators, inhaled steroids, and nitric oxide (preferred)
• Experience assisting with high-risk deliveries and NICU/pediatric critical care preferred

Responsibilities

• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours, 6:45pm-7:15am
• Holiday rotation and every other weekend required
• Must be able to float to all areas of the hospital, including labor and delivery
• No on-call requirement
• Utilizes Epic EMR system
• Patient ratio of 1:8
• Community hospital setting with Trauma Level I and II experience preferred
• Provide respiratory care across adult critical care, emergency department, NICU, and pediatric settings
• Perform airway management, ventilator management, and medication delivery per physician orders
• Assist with bronchoscopy and high-risk delivery procedures as needed
• May be assigned to emergency response teams during hurricane season (June through November, peak August-September)
• Caribbean Blue scrub color required
• Free on-site parking available
• First-time travelers considered depending on qualifications
• Previous MUSC perm or PRN staff must be separated from the system for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
• All requested time off must be submitted at time of consideration for approval based on facility needs
• Local candidates not accepted; must reside outside a 60-mile radius of the facility
