Job summary

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist for a night shift at a teaching hospital requiring RRT certification and 2+ years of experience. The role features adult critical care and emergency department settings with night shifts 19:00-7:30.

Qualifications include RRT and BLS, OH license if applicable, AV/airway management, and ABG interpretation. Fingerprinting in Ohio is required; local candidates welcome. Travel assignments possible after 6+ months away.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• RRT certification required
• BLS certification required
• OH State License required if applicable
• Education from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
• Ventilator management experience (BiPAP, CPAP, weaning)
• Airway management devices experience (extubation, suctioning, tracheostomy care)
• Medication delivery systems experience (aerosol setups, nebulizers)
• Oxygen therapy experience (HFNC, trach collar)
• Ability to interpret ABGs
• Two professional references required; at least 1 from leadership (Manager/Director)

Responsibilities

• Respiratory/Neuro Diagnostics unit within a hospital setting
• Adult Critical Care and Emergency Department work settings
• Night shift, 3x12 hour shifts from 19:00-7:30
• Responsibilities include medication administration, ventilator management, airway management, and pulmonary hygiene
• Perform sputum specimen collection and tracheostomy care/management
• Ohio fingerprinting must be completed promptly after contract signing due to urgent timelines
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate
• Former employees eligible for travel assignment after 6+ months away from the facility
• Current employees are ineligible to be hired as a traveler at this health system
• RTO must be submitted with the contract and is limited to 7 days or less
