Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Step-Down unit position requiring a PA or Compact license, 2 years of experience, and rotating shift availability.

Details

• Step-Down/Telemetry unit setting with rotating day and night shifts (3x12 hours)
• Anticipate 6-week rotating schedule with 3 weeks of days and 3 weeks of nights, dependent on unit needs
• Required to work every other weekend
• Floating required
• Cerner EMR experience required
• Cardiac monitoring and telemetry with dysrhythmia interpretation

Requirements

• Active RN license (PA or Compact) currently in hand
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Cerner charting system experience required
• Previous charge experience preferred
• Skills in IV therapy, central/PICC/peripheral line care, and blood product administration
• Experience with respiratory support (BiPAP/CPAP, HFNC, oxygen therapy)
• Experience managing cardiac drips and interpreting dysrhythmias
• 1 supervisory reference within the past year required for consideration
• Completion of PA fingerprinting and ChildLine clearance required within 48 hours of signing contract
• Lab work must be completed within 72 hours of signing contract

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care in a Step-Down/Telemetry environment including monitoring, medication administration, and drip management
• Care for patients with cardiovascular, neurological, orthopedic, and renal conditions
• Navy blue or white scrubs required
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Not eligible for local candidates within a 50-mile radius
• Previous permanent or per diem employment with Penn Highlands Healthcare must be disclosed and requires an 18-month break before returning as a traveler
