Job summary

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for Telemetry/IMC (Progressive Care) night shift position requiring at least 1 year of stepdown experience and NIHSS certification.

IMC/Stepdown unit in a hospital setting with 3x12-hour nights, caring for adults and geriatrics with CHF, chest pain, COPD, AFib with RVR and arrhythmias; float included.

Qualifications

• Active IL RN license required.
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS.
• Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience.
• Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and starting/maintaining IVs.
• Experience managing cardiac drips and heparin protocols.
• Experience with isolation precautions and PPE.
• Charting system experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• IMC/Stepdown unit care within a hospital setting.
• Night shift, 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM.
• Care for adult and geriatric patients with CHF, chest pain, COPD, AFib with RVR, and arrhythmias.
• Performs cardiac telemetry monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and rapid response activation.
• Manages BiPAP, CPAP, and high flow nasal cannula respiratory support.
• Provides pre/post cardiac catheterization and sheath removal care.
• Manages central, peripheral, and PICC lines along with port access and blood product administration.
• Provides pre/post hemodialysis and renal failure management.
• Manages chest tubes, tracheostomy care, and wound care/wound vac.
• Uses Pyxis medication system and SBAR communication.
• Float required.

• Typical patient ratio of 1:4-5
• Performs cardiac telemetry monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and rapid response activation
• Manages BiPap, CPAP, and high flow nasal cannula respiratory support
• Provides pre/post cardiac catheterization and sheath removal care
• Manages central, peripheral, and PICC lines along with port access and blood product administration
• Provides pre/post hemodialysis and renal failure management
• Manages chest tubes, tracheostomy care, and wound care/wound vac
• Uses Pyxis medication system and SBAR communication

Requirements

• Active IL RN license required

• Unit accepts first-time travelers
