Job summary

Cross Country Nurses seeks a Travel RN Stepdown in Evansville, Indiana, for a 13-week assignment. The role focuses on post-procedure cardiac, neuro, and multi-system care on a 19-bed unit, with 12-hour day shifts and a 36-hour week.

The ideal candidate has an active compact license, BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and at least 2 years in step-down nursing, plus travel contract experience. EPIC charting proficiency is required to deliver timely, high-quality patient care.

Qualifications

• Current active compact license, AHA BLS, AHA ACLS, NIHSS required upon submission.
• Education: Associate Degree or Certificate.
• Minimum of 2 solid years in Step Down nursing plus 1 travel contract, or 5 years of solid Step Down experience if no travel experience.
• Location: No geographic restrictions, but must meet licensing requirements.

Responsibilities

• Post-heart cath care and initiation/titration of drips (e.g., Cardizem, Amio, Nitroglycerin, Insulin, Heparin).
• Neuro assessments including NIHSS.
• Sepsis care, chest tube management, and PIV insertion.
