Job summary

TravelNurseSource is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for an Intermediate Care (IMC/PCU/Stepdown) travel assignment in Newburgh, Indiana. This 13-week contract offers 12-hour night shifts with guaranteed hours onsite.

Required qualifications include a Compact RN license, BLS/ACLS/NIHSS, Epic charting experience, and at least 2 years of RN practice with Step Down exposure. A travel background and trauma level II experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Current, active Compact RN License.
• AHA BLS, AHA ACLS, and NIHSS certification required — must be attached upon submittal.
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience with at least 1 full year of Step Down experience.
• At least 1 prior travel assignment and Trauma Level II experience required.
• Recent EPIC charting experience required (checkoff class will be required upon start).
• Must live at least 40 miles from the facility to be eligible.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a 16-bed Step Down unit serving a cardiac, neurological, and complex medical patient population.
• Perform telemetry monitoring and 12-lead EKG interpretation; pass telemetry competency testing.
• Initiate and titrate drips including antiarrhythmics, Heparin, and Insulin.
• Conduct post-surgical assessments, NIHSS/neurological assessments, and dysphagia screenings.
• Float within skillset to sister campuses with a minimum of 2-hour notice for cross-campus float; mid-shift float within the same campus is also possible.
• May precept nursing students and new hires in this teaching facility environment.
