Job summary

HealthForce Healthcare is seeking a Travel Registered Nurse (RN) – School Nurse for a day-shift assignment in Montpelier, VT. This full-time/contract role focuses on pediatric care in a school setting, delivering comprehensive nursing services and coordinating with educators.

Responsibilities include direct care, medication administration, health screenings, documentation in the EHR, and collaboration with families to support student wellness during regular daytime hours.

Qualifications

• BSN strongly preferred; ADN accepted with school health or pediatric experience.
• Active Vermont RN license; BLS certification required; PALS or School Health Nurse certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Direct Care & Triage: Provide immediate nursing care for acute illnesses, injuries, and emergencies on campus.
• Medication & Care Plans: Administer medications, oversee treatment schedules, and manage IHPs for chronic conditions or special needs.
• Health Screenings & Compliance: Coordinate immunization records and health screenings, manage referrals per state standards.
• Education & Promotion: Educate students, families, and school personnel on health promotion and hygiene practices.
• Documentation: Maintain timely documentation of student visits, treatments, and incidents in EHR and school health logs.
• Community Collaboration: Liaise with local health departments and families to coordinate care and vaccination compliance.
