Job summary

TalentBurst is seeking a Travel RN for the Pediatric CICU in Dallas, TX. This role covers 7:00 PM–7:00 AM nights and involves postoperative CHD care, arterial/central line management, and collaboration with the pediatric cardiac team.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years PICU experience, 1+ year Pediatric CICU/CVICU, 3–4 travel contracts in a dedicated Pediatric CICU, CHD experience, and PALS/BLS/ACLS certification.

Qualifications

• Two plus years in PICU as staff RN.
• One plus year in Pediatric CICU/CVICU as staff RN.
• Three to four travel contracts in a Pediatric CICU.
• Experience caring for CHD patients.
• Strong post-operative CHD management experience.
• Experience managing arterial, central and transthoracic lines.
• PALS, BLS and ACLS are required.

Responsibilities

• Care for post-op cardiac/general surgical patients.
• Assist with intubation/extubation and sedation as needed.
• Respond to codes and ECMO/CRRT when required.
• Manage arterial/central lines and monitoring.
• Float to PICU, NICU, and pediatric units as needed.

Unit: 3rd Floor Children's – Pediatric CICU
Beds: 27
Shift: 7:00 PM–7:00 AM | Nights
EMR: Meditech
Ratios: 1:1, 1:2, occasionally 1:3
Weekend: Rotating — Night shift Friday & Saturday
Call: None
Scrubs: Royal Blue

Must-Have Experience

• 2+ years PICU experience as a staff RN
• 1+ year Pediatric CICU/CVICU experience as a staff RN
• 3–4 travel contracts specifically in a dedicated Pediatric CICU
• Experience caring for congenital heart disease (CHD) patients
• Strong post-operative CHD management experience
• Experience managing:
  • Arterial lines
  • Central lines
  • Transthoracic lines
• PALS, BLS & ACLS required

Preferred

• 2+ years Pediatric CICU/CVICU experience
• 1+ year caring for neonatal cardiac patients, both pre-op and post-op
• 2+ years pediatric cardiac experience in step‑down/cardiology

Ideal Candidate

Look for a true Pediatric Cardiac ICU traveler, not someone whose experience is primarily adult CVICU, adult ICU, or general PICU. The strongest candidates will have recent dedicated Peds CICU/CVICU experience plus multiple Peds CICU travel contracts and congenital cardiac/post‑op experience.
