Job summary

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN-ECMO Specialist for a 13-week travel assignment in the United States. The role supports pediatric ECMO patients, including VA and VV configurations, with 3x12 hour day shifts, 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratios, and weekend requirements.

Epic charting experience and prior trauma/teaching hospital exposure are preferred. Qualified candidates hold an active RN license (NE or Compact), BLS and PALS, and have at least 2 years of Cardio Help/ECMO experience.

• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• Cardio Help experience required
• Must be able to manage both VA ECMO and VV ECMO patients
• Epic charting system experience preferred
• Teaching hospital and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
• Previous charge experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Serves as pump specialist for pediatric patients on VA or VV ECMO for cardiac or non-cardiac reasons
• Floats to NICU, PICU, and CVPICU when no ECMO patients are present, providing bedside care to cardiac, non-cardiac, or NICU patients based on unit needs
• Day shift schedule, 3x12 hour shifts from 7:00 to 19:00
• 1:2 patient ratio
• Every 3rd weekend required
• 13-week assignment length
• Responsible for managing ECMO pump operations for pediatric cardiac and non-cardiac cases
• Provides bedside ICU nursing care when not actively managing ECMO patients
• First-time travelers accepted
• Former permanent employees of the facility are not accepted as travelers
• Candidates must live outside a 100-mile radius of the facility to be considered
