American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Pre-Op/Short Stay assignment in Texas. The position requires a TX or compact RN license, BLS, and Meditech Magic experience, with a 13-week length and 40 hours per week on dayshift from 07:00 to 15:00.

The unit has 13 beds, patient ratio 3:1, and responsibilities include care for General Surgery, Orthopedics, Plastics, and Cath Lab patients, with float to related areas and rotating weekend call.

Qualifications

• Active TX nursing license (or compact) and BLS.
• Minimum 1 year Pre-Op experience.
• Meditech Magic EMR experience required.
• IV skills and Phase 2 recovery experience preferred.
• Willingness to float to PreOp, Phase 2, and PAT areas; rotate weekends.

Responsibilities

• Provide care in a 13-bed Pre-Op/Short Stay unit.
• Work days 07:00–15:00 for 13 weeks (40 hrs/wk).

• Utilize EKGs, glucometers, bedside monitoring; Meditech Magic EMR.

Requirements

• Current BLS certification
• Minimum 1 year of recent experience in Pre-Op

• Preferred experience with Phase 2 recovery and excellent IV skills
• Willingness to take rotating weekday and weekend call preferred
• US Social Security Number and date of birth required for consideration
• One professional reference required
• No employment gaps of 90 days or more within the past 12 months

• Navy scrub color required for dress code
• Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; no local candidates accepted
• Flexible schedule and willingness to float to multiple pre-op related areas expected
