Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit night shift travel assignment in Quincy, IL. You will join a 24-bed PCU at a trauma level 2 facility, delivering telemetry-guided care on a 12-hour schedule.

The role requires IL RN licensure, 2+ years in stepdown, and certifications (ACLS, BLS, NIHSS). You’ll use Allscripts Sunrise EMR, manage complex drips, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, with weekend rotation possible.

Qualifications

Active IL RN license required.
Minimum 2 years of recent stepdown or progressive care experience.
Current ACLS, BLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certifications.
Proficiency with Allscripts Sunrise EMR preferred.

Responsibilities

Work in a 24-bed Acute Stepdown Progressive Care Unit (PCU) at a trauma level 2 facility.
Care for dysrhythmias, cardiopulmonary issues, sepsis, high flow O2, and behavioral patients needing IV drip medications.
Patient ratio is 1:3 or 1:4 depending on acuity.
Administers complex medication drips such as dopamine, levophed, cardizem, heparin, precedex, nitro, amiodarone, dobutamine, and nicardipine.
High patient throughput as expected in stepdown environments.
Uses Allscripts Sunrise EMR.
12-hour night shifts with potential to work every other weekend.
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team in a high-acuity setting.
