Cross Country Nurses is seeking a travel nurse RN PCU for a Des Moines, IA assignment. You will work 12-hour night shifts, 48 hours per week, for 13 weeks, starting 10/12/2026 with an end date around 01/11/2027.

The role focuses on progressive care with neurology, neurosurgery, trauma and orthopedic patients. Licensed in Iowa (or multi-state), BLS/ACLS and EPIC EMR experience are required; NIHSS and de-escalation certification are preferred. Travel across multiple campuses is possible.

Qualifications

• 24 months of Medical Surgical/IMCU/Stepdown/Progressive Care experience.
• Neurology/neurosurgery care experience required or preferred.
• Trauma care experience is highly preferred.
• Active Iowa license or multistate compact license.
• BLS and ACLS certifications.
• Telemetry and specialty equipment experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialized PCU nursing care for neurology, neurosurgery, trauma and orthopedic patients.
• Monitor patient status, respond to changes, and communicate with the care team.
• Document care using EPIC EMR and ensure patient safety.
• Coordinate with travel team and coordinate across multiple campuses.
