Job summary

TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN PCU - Progressive Care Unit for a travel nursing job in Topeka, Kansas. The PCU RN will monitor cardiac vitals and provide step-down care while adapting to a fast-paced environment.

1–2 years of acute care experience is preferred and ACLS/BLS certifications are required. Position features a 26-week travel assignment with 12-hour nights and a flexible pay package, plus comprehensive benefits available through TotalMed RN.

Qualifications

• ACLS and BLS certifications required.
• 2 years of recent acute care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic bedside care; stabilize critical cardiac patients.
• Change dressings, insert catheters and start IVs.
• Prepare, administer and record prescribed medication, reporting any adverse reactions to treatment.
• Monitor and adjust specialized equipment used on patients, and interpret and record electronic displays.
• Initiate corrective action whenever information from monitoring equipment shows adverse symptomatology.
