Job summary

TotalMed RN is seeking a PCU travel nurse for a Richmond, Virginia assignment. The RN should have 1–2 years of recent acute care experience and be available for a 13‑week travel assignment, working 36 hours per week on 12‑hour night shifts.

The PCU role entails close monitoring of patients not in ICU, with responsibilities including IVs, dressings, meds, and essential monitoring. This position offers travel benefits with weekly pay and benefits.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years recent acute care experience preferred.
• PCU with cardiac step-down or medical step-down experience is ideal.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic bedside care; stabilize cardiac patients.
• Change dressings, insert catheters and start IVs.
• Prepare, administer, and record prescribed medications; monitor for adverse reactions.
• Monitor and interpret patient monitors and related equipment.
• Initiate corrective actions based on monitoring data.
