Job summary
American Traveler is seeking a PACU RN for a Phase I recovery unit in Honesdale, PA. The role requires at least 1 year of PACU experience and an active PA or Compact RN license. BLS, ACLS, and PALS are required.
The position features a 4x10 hour day shift with on-call duties and a 13-week assignment. You will care for patients across multiple surgical specialties, including cardiovascular and neuro cases, and participate in a complex post-anesthesia care pathway with arterial line, IV therapy,
Qualifications
- Active RN license (PA or Compact) required
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
- Minimum 1 year of PACU experience required
- Charting system experience required (any system accepted)
- Experience with cardiac monitoring, arterial line management, dysrhythmia recognition, and IV therapy/phlebotomy
- Experience with blood product administration and central line care/management
- Experience administering IV vasopressors, narcotics/opioid analgesics, and reversal agents
- Experience with EVD and ICP monitoring for neurological patients
- Experience caring for ventilated patients
- Experience with various anesthesia types including conscious sedation, general, local, MAC, nerve blocks, spinal, and post-epidural management
- Familiarity with malignant hyperthermia protocol, pain assessment/management, PCA pump management, and RASS scale
Responsibilities
- Provide post-anesthesia recovery care for a variety of surgical cases including bariatrics, ENT, general, GYN, neuro, ophthalmology, ortho, and vascular
- Care for patients recovering from multiple anesthesia types and complex medication regimens
- Handle on-call responsibilities as part of a 4x10 schedule
