Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Outpatient Urology Clinic position in Gloucester, VA. The role requires Epic charting and prior urology outpatient experience, with a fast-paced schedule and daily 8-hour shifts.

You will work with one surgeon and one advanced practice provider, perform cystoscopies, vasectomies, and biopsies; must hold VA or compact license and BLS. 13-week assignment, 40 hours weekly, Days shift.

Qualifications

• Active RN license (VA or compact) in hand at submission
• BLS certification required (AHA)
• Minimum 2 years nursing experience
• Prior urology outpatient clinic experience
• Specialty experience within the last year
• Epic charting experience required
• Foley catheter insertion and management
• Specimen collection and labeling (urine UA/clean catch)
• Vital signs, pulse oximetry, and pain assessment
• Laboratory result interpretation

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a urology outpatient setting including catheter management, procedure support, and specimen collection
• Assist with a high-volume procedure schedule alongside a surgeon and advanced practice provider
• Prior permanent employees must have a 6-month gap before returning as a traveler
• RTO should be minimal, ideally none, with no more than 7 days total requested and included at time of initial submission
• No additional RTO requests approved after an offer is extended
• Local candidates accepted at the same base rate
• First-time travelers are not considered for this role
