American Traveler is seeking an RN to join an Orthopedics Med/Surg unit in Illinois. The role requires an active IL license and 1-2 years of postop surgical/med surg experience, with BLS certification and telemetry troubleshooting skills.

The unit is a 43-bed, all-private-room Orthopedic floor in a Level 1 trauma hospital. Night shifts are 12 hours with every other weekend; no on-call. EPIC EMR is used, with travel RNs floating to similar Med/Surg floors as needed.

Qualifikationen

• Active IL RN license is required.
• BLS certification (AHA) required.
• 2 years of RN experience required.
• 1-2 years postop surgical and general med surg experience preferred.
• Experience with telemetry monitoring and basic RT equipment troubleshooting.

Aufgaben

• Acute care Level 1 trauma hospital setting on a 43-bed all-private-room Orthopedic unit (6 Ortho).
• Patient population includes medical surgical, postoperative orthopedic, and trauma fracture cases.
• Nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:4-5 on days and 1:5-6 on nights.
• PCTs staffed at a 1:7-8 ratio.
• Uses EPIC EMR.
• Primary charge RN on each shift plus 24/7 house supervisor coverage.
• House-wide telemetry pack monitors (Phillips brand), RNs read their own strips.
• RT equipment includes CPAP and heated high flow as needed.
• 12-hour night shifts.
• Every other weekend required (Sat/Sun days, Fri/Sat nights).
• No call or standby requirements.
• Travel RNs float first when needed, typically to similar Med/Surg floors.
• Two days of unit/department specific orientation.
• Provide postoperative orthopedic and general med surg nursing care.
• Troubleshoot RT equipment such as CPAP and high flow devices as needed.
• Adult professional appearance required; any scrub color permitted; tattoos and piercings must be covered.
• Local rate applies to clinicians with a permanent address within 50 miles of the facility.
• No radius rule restricting eligibility.
• First-time travelers may be considered.
