Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. is hiring an experienced Operating Room RN for a Pediatric OR role in West Virginia. Applicants must have travel nursing experience and a valid WV/compact RN license, plus 2+ years of OR RN experience including scrub and circulate skills.

The position requires BLS certification, pediatric/general OR experience, and references. Shifts are 5x8s or 4x10s with call 6–8 shifts monthly; travel housing, per diem, and licensure reimbursements are offered.

Qualifications

• Active WV or Compact RN license required; pending WV license accepted but active before start.
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience.
• Minimum 2 years of OR RN experience (scrub and circulate).
• Prior travel nursing experience required; first-time travelers not accepted.
• BLS certification required.
• Pediatric General OR and General OR experience required.
• IV start skills preferred.
• Robotic surgery experience preferred.
• Experience in pediatric and women's specialty settings strongly preferred.
• Minimum 2 Manager/Charge Nurse references from past 2 years.
• Driver's license and SSN required for consideration.

Responsibilities

• Care for patients in a 30-bed Pediatric OR (birth to 17 years).
• Shift options: 5x8s or 4x10s, 0645-1515 or 0645-1715.
• Call 6-8 shifts per month, some weeknights/weekends, rotating.
• No floating to sister facilities.
• Use Cerner EMR, Accudose, and SBAR for charting/communication.
• Facility is a Level I Pediatric Trauma Center and Level IV NICU, teaching hospital.
• Bright blue scrub color required.
• Flu vaccine required during flu season (Oct 1–Mar 31) unless exempt; COVID not required.
• Candidates must reside >100 miles from facility; 75–100 miles case-by-case.
• No local candidates accepted.
• Former CAMC permanent employees must wait 2 years before travel return.
• Current Vandalia Health System employees are not eligible for this travel contract.
• RTO requests at application; manager prefers extra days to finish 13-week assignment.
• First-time travelers will not be considered.

• Facility is a Level I Pediatric Trauma Center and Level IV NICU, and a major teaching hospital within the Council of Teaching Hospitals and Health Systems (COTH)
• Bright blue scrub color required
• Flu vaccine required during flu season (October 1 - March 31) unless medical exemption documented; COVID vaccine not required
• Candidates must reside more than 100 miles from the facility; those between 75-100 miles may be considered case-by-case at the same rate
• No local candidates accepted
• Former CAMC permanent employees must wait 2 years from last day worked before returning as a travel contractor
• Current employees of Vandalia Health System facilities (including CAMC, Mon Health, Davis Medical Center, Broaddus Hospital, Webster Memorial Hospital, Grafton City Hospital, Highland-Clarksburg Hospital, and Minnie Hamilton Health System) are not eligible for this travel contract
• RTO requests should be submitted at time of application; manager prefers added days to maintain the full 13-week assignment length
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this role
