Job summary

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Operating Room position, requiring surgical and IV skills, with rotating weekend and call coverage in West Virginia.

The role requires an active WV or Compact RN license, BLS, and a minimum of 2 years of experience, plus IV skills and knowledge of surgical care with robotics experience. Preop scrubbing duties are included, and travel housing/licensure reimbursements are available.

Qualifications

• Surgical care knowledge and robotics experience required.
• Preop scrubbing responsibilities only.

Responsibilities

• Acute care setting within a hospital's surgical center/preop area (not a freestanding surgical center).
• 15 operating suites handling 55-70 cases per day covering all procedure types including same day and overnight stays.
• Day shift scheduling with options for 8s or 10s (6-2, 7-3, 8-4, 9-5).
• Rotating weekend requirement with an 8-hour shift (7A-3P) on Saturday or Sunday plus a 24-hour on-call period.
• 1-2 second-call shifts per monthly schedule, consisting of a 24-hour call one weekend day from 7A-7A.
• 30-minute call response time required.
• Floating required to the OR holding area.
• EMR currently Sunrise with a planned EPIC go-live.
• Scrubs provided by the facility.
• Unit-specific orientation covers the surgical center/preop area.
• Must reside within a 50-mile radius of the facility and local candidates are not accepted.
• Travelers who previously worked at any WVU Medicine location must have taken a 2-year break before reapplying.
• Travelers are limited to working within WVU for no longer than one year cumulatively before requiring a 2-year break.
