Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Operating Room RN to circulate cardiac and transplant cases in a high-acuity academic medical center in Seattle, WA. The ideal candidate will have 3–4 years of OR circulating experience and be licensed to practice in Washington state.

Responsibilities include acting as the sole circulator on assigned cases, floating to different hospital services during slow periods, and potentially performing charge nurse duties.

Qualifications

• Active WA or compact RN license required.
• Minimum 3–4 years of OR circulating experience required.
• Strong experience in cardiac and transplant case circulation required.
• Experience with multiple service lines preferred, including cardiac and robotic surgery.

• Float within the hospital to other specialties during slow periods.
• Night shift 4×10 hours, 2100–0730; no on-call requirements.
• May also perform charge nurse duties.

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Operating Room RN to circulate cardiac and transplant cases in a high-acuity academic medical center, requiring 3-4 years of OR experience.

Details

• Operating Room unit in an academic teaching hospital setting
• Sole circulator role covering all assigned cases
• 28 operating rooms with average daily census of 50-75
• Patient population includes orthopedic sports, minimally invasive arthroscopic and laparoscopic cases, robotics, general, GYN, urology, and plastics cases
• Neuro, spine, thoracic, and vascular experience a plus
• Night shift, 4x10 hours, 2100-0730
• No call requirements
• May also perform charge nurse duties
• Floating within the hospital required, including to other specialties during slow periods
• No floating to sister hospitals
• Uses Epic charting system

Requirements

• Active WA or compact RN license required
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 3-4 years of OR circulating experience required
• Strong experience in cardiac and transplant case circulation required
• Experience with multiple service lines preferred, including cardiac and robotic surgery
• Epic charting experience preferred but not required

Additional Information

• Work in a Magnet-designated, high-acuity academic teaching environment
• Scrubs provided for OR personnel; any color accepted
• Circulate cases across a wide range of specialties including vascular, gynecology, plastics, neurology, orthopedics, cardiovascular, general surgery, urology, robotics, ENT, bariatrics, and thoracic surgery
• First-time travelers considered if candidate has 3+ years of experience
• Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate
• RTO limited to a maximum of 1 week and cannot be requested during the first 2 weeks of assignment
• Former UW Medical Center staff must have a minimum 18-month separation before returning as a traveler

Pay

$2,792/wk

Assignment Total (13 Weeks): $36,296

Annual Equivalent (52 Weeks): $145,184

Weekly Wages: $1,000/wk

Regular Hours: $25.00 x 40 hours/wk = $1,000

Weekly Stipends: $1,792/wk

Lodging: $188.00 x 7 days = $1,316

Meals & Incidentals: $68.00 x 7 days = $476

In compliance with state pay transparency laws, we disclose that the estimated weekly pay range for this role is $2,554 - $2,792. The $2,792 weekly pay shown in this posting, along with related figures, corresponds to the higher end of this range. Weekly travel pay includes tax-free stipends per IRS guidelines. Weekly local pay is fully taxable and therefore lower due to additional employer-paid taxes and related costs.
