Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Operating Room RN for a travel assignment in Wisconsin. The role requires robotics, orthopedic, and multispecialty surgical skills in a fast-paced unit.

Expect 40 hours per week with 13 weeks length and rotating call. Must hold an active WI license; BLS is required and ACLS/NIHSS may be pending but completed during compliance. Epic charting experience is preferred.

  • Minimum 2 years OR RN experience.
  • Epic charting experience preferred.
  • Experience with Da Vinci Xi robotics required.

Responsibilities

  • Operate in a hospital OR unit with robotics and multispecialty cases.
  • Rotating call 2–3 days per week and every 4th–5th weekend.
  • Call coverage includes 24‑hour shifts on weekends; must be covered.
  • Proficiency with Epic charting and OR skills emphasized.

Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Operating Room RN with at least 2 years of experience and robotics, orthopedic, and multi-specialty surgical skills for a fast-paced surgical unit.

Details
  • Operating Room unit within a hospital setting
  • Rotating call required 2-3 days per week and every 4th-5th weekend
  • Call teams cover weekday call in pairs and weekend call in 24-hour shifts
  • Call must be covered even if RTO falls on a scheduled call day
  • Heavy focus on robotics, orthopedics, and sports medicine cases
  • Additional specialties include urology, gynecology, plastics, ENT, ophthalmology, podiatry, spine, and neurosurgery
  • Uses Epic charting system
Requirements
  • Active WI or Compact RN license required
  • BLS certification required, ACLS and NIHSS may be pending at submission but must be completed during compliance
  • Minimum 2 years of Operating Room RN experience required
  • Epic charting experience preferred
  • Previous charge experience preferred
  • Experience with Da Vinci Xi Surgical System and other robotic platforms required
  • Skilled in general OR and trauma work settings
  • Knowledge of Universal Protocol, laser safety, radiation safety, and specimen handling required
  • Candidates with latex allergies cannot be accommodated
  • SSN, DOB, and RTO required at time of consideration
Additional Information
  • Perform circulating and/or scrub duties across a wide range of surgical specialties including gynecology, plastics, neurology, podiatry, orthopedics, general surgery, vascular, ophthalmology, urology, ENT, and bariatrics
  • Utilize specialized equipment such as cell savers, electrosurgical units, fiber optic light sources, and the Hana Table
  • Support emergency management protocols including code response, fire safety, and malignant hyperthermia procedures
  • Badge photo required within 24 hours of offer acceptance
  • Two supervisor references required after offer acceptance
  • Local candidates accepted at a reduced rate within 50 miles of the facility
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
  • Travelers may return only after a minimum 1-year separation from the facility
  • Travel pairs are accepted
  • Modules are typically completed during orientation and average 3-4 hours
