Job summary

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Operating Room position requiring an active Illinois RN license and prior surgical nursing experience.

Details include work in the Surgery unit, rotating call, weekends and holidays, and potential float to other affiliated hospital locations within the health system using Epic EMR charting.

Assignment is 13 weeks with 40-hour weeks (Days, 4x10hrs). Start ASAP; must reside within reasonable distance from facility.

Qualifications

• Active IL RN license in good standing (temporary license accepted).
• Current BLS certification (American Heart Association).
• Minimum of three years of relevant Nursing experience.
• ASN required, BSN preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care utilizing the nursing process across a designated patient assignment.
• Complete initial patient assessments and develop individualized plans of care.
• Implement and modify nursing interventions based on ongoing patient evaluation.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date nursing documentation for care coordination.
• Report and correct safety hazards to ensure patient and employee safety.
• Participate in professional development and departmental competency requirements.

• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be considered
• RTO limited to no more than 7 total days per 13-week contract
• Workers may not remain continuously on assignment within the health system for more than 1 year without a 6-month break in service
