Job summary

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN Circulator for an Operating Room position in Maine. The role requires 2 years of OR experience and ME or compact RN licensure, with BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications. Scrub experience is a plus.

Drivers’ license and 2 professional references are required. The RN-Circulator will work in a surgical unit with 3 ORs and 2 procedure rooms, covering Endoscopy, General Surgery, Orthopedics, Gynecology, ENT, Urology, and Ophthalmology cases.

Qualifications

• Active RN license (ME or compact) required
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of Operating Room experience required
• Scrub experience preferred but not required
• Driver's License required for consideration
• 2 professional references required

Responsibilities

• Work as an RN-Circulator in a surgical unit with 3 ORs and 2 procedure rooms
• Patient population includes Endoscopy, General Surgery, Orthopedics, Gynecology, ENT, Urology, and Ophthalmology cases
• 1:1 patient ratios
• Uses Stryker, Storz, and Steris surgical equipment
• EMR: EPIC
• Day shift schedule, 4 days per week, 9-hour shifts (6:45a-4:15p)
• Rotating weekend on-call required, Friday 4:15p through Monday 6:45a
• Rotating holiday call required
• Float policy of 25 miles between facilities as needed
• Circulate for a variety of surgical procedures across multiple specialties
• Hospital provides blue scrubs
• Air pods, laptops, and cell phone usage prohibited on the unit
• Local candidates within 90 miles of any MaineHealth facility are considered local and not eligible for renewals or extensions
• Candidates who have worked at any MaineHealth facility within the past 12 months should disclose this during consideration
• RTO should be kept to a minimum, with 3-4 days considered reasonable for a 13-week contract
