Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an RN for a 13-week Trauma Level II Emergency Department assignment in Texas. The facility is a primary stroke and STEMI center with a 29-bed ED, including surge beds and a dedicated Trauma Room.

Night shifts run 6:45PM–7:15AM, with weekends/holidays rotated and a large ED team providing 24/7 coverage. Requirements include an active TX or compact RN license, 2+ years ED experience, and current BLS, ACLS, and PALS.

Qualifications

• Active TX or compact RN license required.
• Minimum 2 years of ED nursing experience required.
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications (AHA required).
• NRP, TNCC, NIH Stroke Scale, and Ascension CPI certifications preferred.
• Nursys license verification required within 30 days prior to start.
• Current license and primary source verification required within 30 days prior to start.

Responsibilities

• 13-week assignment in a fast-paced Trauma Level II ED that is also a Primary Stroke and STEMI Center.
• 29-bed ED with 8 surge hallway beds, 1 dedicated Trauma Room, and 6 Vertical Care rooms.
• Supports a 4:1 RN ratio in the main ED and 3:1 RN ratio in the Vertical Care area.
• Serves a Pediatric Readiness Facility population.
• Night shift schedule from 6:45PM-7:15AM.
• Rotating weekends and holiday coverage required.
• Work alongside a large ED team of over 120 associates supporting a high-volume trauma and stroke center.
• Providers staff multiple shifts with overlapping MD and APP coverage throughout the day and night.
• Scrub requirement: navy blue top and bottom, with Ascension-branded shirt worn on payday Fridays.
• Coverage required for 2 major holidays.
• On-site cafeteria available with extended weekday and weekend hours.
