Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Emergency Department RN for night shifts in Texas. Requires TX or compact RN license with TNCC, BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications, plus MediTech EMR experience. ED experience and a strong patient-care focus are essential. Travel and housing perks accompany this assignment.

Work on a Level 2 Trauma unit with a 37-bed ED, 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio, and rotation to PBED as needed; 6:00 PM–6:00 AM shifts and 4 weekend shifts each 4-week period.

Qualifications

• Active TX or compact RN license required
• Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of recent Emergency Department experience required
• MediTech EMR experience required
• High caliber patient experience skills required
• US Social Security Number and date of birth required for consideration (Canadian SSNs not accepted)
• One professional reference required
• Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; no local candidates accepted
• No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
• Quick start availability preferred with minimal time-off requests

Responsibilities

• Work in the Main ED and PBED at a Level 2 Trauma facility
• 37-bed unit with 73 FTE staff supporting day and night shift coverage
• Patient ratio of 1:4 within zone assignments
• Uses GE Monitors for patient monitoring
• Charting completed in MediTech EMR
• Night shift schedule from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM
• Required to work 4 weekend shifts within a 4-week period
• No on-call responsibilities
• May float to hospital holding areas for ED patients awaiting admission
• Provide emergency care to a high‑acuity trauma patient population in a fast‑paced Level 2 Trauma ED
• Work alongside a team including charge nurses, RNs, techs, and paramedics across day and night shifts
• High energy, self‑motivated, and amicable personality preferred
• Royal Blue scrub top and bottom required
