Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery night shift position in South Carolina. The ideal candidate has at least 2 years of L&D experience and holds an active SC or Compact RN license.

Responsibilities include working in the hospital L&D unit on a 19:00–07:30 schedule, a 13-week assignment, and a rotation of three 12-hour shifts per week plus four 12-hour call shifts within a six-week period. Floating to similar units is expected.

Qualifications

• Active RN license (SC or Compact).
• BLS (AHA only) and NRP (AHA only) certifications.
• Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery experience.

Responsibilities

• Work in Labor & Delivery unit of a hospital.
• Night shift schedule 19:00-07:30.
• 13-week assignment.
• Scheduled 3×12-hour shifts per week plus 4×12-hour call shifts within a 6-week period.
• Float to similar units as needed.
• Assess patient needs based on history, observation, physical examination, and diagnostic data.
• Provide age-specific nursing interventions consistent with the plan of care and standards of practice.
• Foster an environment of caring, compassion, and respect for patients, families, and visitors.
• Utilize appropriate health and safety equipment to protect patients and staff.
• Contribute to department performance through precepting and mentoring novice employees.
• Participate in hospital-system initiatives and evidence-based nursing practices.
• Demonstrate continued professional growth through goal setting and educational offerings.
