Job summary

American Traveler is seeking a Night Shift RN to join the Intermediate Care/Telemetry Unit. Must have at least 1 year of unit-specific experience and an active compact or VA RN license. BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications are required; pending certifications considered.

Night shifts run 3x12 or 4x12 hours from 19:00 to 07:00 with floating to IMC and Med-Surg. Orientation is biweekly; 8–10 hours of modules, nicotine-free campus, and Joint Commission alignment.

Qualifications

• Active compact or VA RN license in hand
• BLS, ACLS, NIHSS certifications required
• Candidates with pending certifications will be considered
• Minimum 1 year of experience in the unit specialty required; 2-3 years preferred
• BSN not required
• Cerner/Oracle Health charting experience preferred but not required

Responsibilities

• Work in the Intermediate Care Unit (IMC) of a hospital setting
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 or 4x12 hours from 19:00-07:00
• Floating required to IMC and Med-Surg units, with travelers floating first as needed
• Floating conducted per Joint Commission standards, including orientation to the new unit
• Biweekly orientation held on Mondays
• 8-10 hours of orientation modules required, completed during orientation and annually
• Scrub policy allows any color, professional prints, and lab coats; nicotine-free campus enforced
• Weekend and holiday rotation required in line with staff schedules
• RTO must be approved prior to assignment start, with minimal time off first weeks
• Former Centra employees must have been separated for at least one year to be eligible to return as a traveler
• First-time travelers are not accepted for this position
• Candidates must reside within a 60-mile radius of the facility
