Job summary

American Traveler Staffing Professionals is hiring an experienced RN for a Neuro ICU travel assignment in Winston-Salem, NC, with ICP monitoring and ventilator management responsibilities. Expect 12-hour nights (3x12) and a 13-week term. Requires active NC/compact license, 2+ years ICU/neurology experience, and travel nursing background.

The role includes SBAR communication, ARCTIC SUN hypothermia protocol, and telemetry. Local candidates within 50 miles may receive a lower rate.

Qualifications

• Active RN license (NC or Compact) required.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant RN experience required.
• Minimum 1 year of travel nursing experience required.
• Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications.
• Experience with ICP monitoring, ventilator management, and telemetry.
• IV therapy, arterial line management, blood product administration, and central line care.
• Experience with CVA/acute stroke management, hypothermia protocol/Arctic Sun, and post neurosurgery management.
• Experience titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips.
• Experience with continuous IV sedation and procedural sedation monitoring preferred.
• Experience with BiPAP/CPAP management and ABG interpretation preferred.
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start.

Responsibilities

• Provide critical care nursing for neuroscience and neurosurgical ICU patients.
• Manage invasive equipment and titrate high-acuity medication drips.
• Scrubs: navy blue, white, or a combination required; adhere to facility rules.
• Orientation is 24 hours, conducted weekly.
• Local candidates within 50 miles accepted at a lower rate.
• Must work 2 of 3 major holidays.
• Travel pairs allowed if on different units and disclosed at submission.
