Job summary

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Nurse for CVICU/MICU with a night schedule at a Level II Trauma Center. The role requires 2+ years RN experience with at least 1 year in ICU and Epic proficiency. Active OR RN license is required along with BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications.

Responsibilities include managing complex cardiac cases, invasive lines, ventilator care, and critical patient monitoring. Potential float to NTICU and ED, with no on-call duties and free parking.

• 1 year of Epic experience required.
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS.
• Preferred certifications: CSU-ALS, TNCC, TCAR (required after 1 year).
• CVICU work history is required.

Responsibilities

• Work in a Short-term acute care hospital, Level II Trauma Center.
• Operate in CVICU with float to NTICU, Telemetry, Acute Care, Observation, and ED.
• Night shift, 3x12 hours (7:00 PM-7:00 AM).
• Patient ratio 1:2; potential float to University District facility.
• Use Epic charting system; care for complex cardiac/critical care patients.
• Assist in chest tube, central line, PICC placement, bedside tracheostomy, and cardiac cooling catheter management.
• Serve as backup for Hospital Cardiac Arrest and Rapid Response Teams.

American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a CVICU/MICU night shift position requiring at least 2 years of RN experience with 1 year of recent ICU experience and Epic proficiency.

Requirements

• Active OR RN license required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience with at least 1 year of recent ICU experience (CCU, CICU, or CVICU)
• 1 year of Epic experience required
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
• Preferred certifications: CSU-ALS, TNCC, TCAR (required after 1 year of assignment)
• Must have CVICU experience in work history
• Skilled in arterial line management, central line care, PICC line management, IV therapy, and blood product administration
• Experience with ventilator management, BiPAP/CPAP, HFNC, and ABG interpretation required
• Skilled in cardiac and vasoactive drip titration, dysrhythmia management, and multi-system organ failure care
• Experience with IV insulin protocols, continuous IV sedation, and emergency medication administration
• Proficient in infection prevention, isolation precautions, and PPE use
• Experience with phlebotomy and wound care with drains/wound vac
• Preferred: 2-3 completed travel assignments
• Two professional references required, at least one from a supervisor
• Proof of Washington state license application required for consideration

Responsibilities

• Work performed in the CVICU, with float requirements to NTICU, Telemetry, Acute Care (Neurology, Surgical, Ortho/Med), Observation, and ED boarding
• Night shift, 3x12 hours (7:00 PM-7:00 AM)
• Patient ratio of 1:2
• Occasional floating to University District facility may be required
• No on-call responsibilities
• Uses Epic charting system
• Care for complex cardiac and critical care patients including open heart, MI, CABG, post cardiac surgery, Impella, IABP, and CRRT cases
• Participate in specialized procedures including chest tube insertion, central line and PICC placement, bedside tracheostomy, and cardiac cooling catheter management
• Serve as backup for Hospital Cardiac Arrest and Rapid Response Teams
• Scrub color is unrestricted
• Parking is free
• Holiday RTO may be approved depending on unit needs, with limited additional time off after contract signing
• Local candidates are not accepted; must reside outside a 60-mile radius of the facility
• Previous PeaceHealth employees must have been separated from the health system for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
• Candidates with more than one DUI are not eligible for consideration
• License processing may delay start date by up to 8 weeks if not yet active in Washington
