American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele float pool position in Connecticut, requiring a CT or compact license and prior travel nursing experience. The role covers Med/Surg units with night shifts (19:00–07:30) and 36/48 hour options, including every other weekend.

Qualifications

• Active CT or compact RN license required
• BLS certification required
• NIHSS certification preferred
• Minimum 1 year Med/Surg nursing experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Skilled in IV therapy and phlebotomy
• Experienced in blood product administration
• Peripheral line care and management
• PICC line management
• Proficient in starting and maintaining IVs
• Nasal cannula and non-invasive airway management
• Knowledgeable in isolation precautions and PPE protocols

Responsibilities

• Float pool position covering Med/Surg units
• Night shift 12-hour shifts 19:00–07:30 with 36 or 48 hour options
• Every other weekend coverage
• Cares for adult and geriatric patients
• Uses Omnicell medication system and Cerner documentation system
• Utilizes SBAR communication system
• Provides care as part of a float pool supporting multiple Med/Surg units
• Professional references required for consideration
• RTO requests must be submitted upfront
• Candidates residing within 75 miles are considered local and accepted at a reduced rate
• First-time travelers are not being considered for this role
