Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. is hiring a Registered Nurse for a Med/Surg Tele travel assignment in Louisiana. The role requires 1 year of RN experience and Epic charting proficiency, with BLS, ACLS, CPI, and active LA/compact license.

You will work night shifts 3x12 on a Tele unit with 25 census, 1:6 patient ratio, and may be assigned to an Emergency Team during events; travel housing and licensure reimbursements are included.

Qualifications

• Active RN license (LA or Compact) in hand upon consideration.
• BLS, ACLS, and CPI certifications required.
• Epic charting system experience required.
• 1 year of RN experience required.
• Experience with IV therapy, line care, and blood products.
• Respiratory care experience preferred (BiPAP/CPAP, oxygen, tracheostomy).
• Experience with cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation.
• Driver's license required.
• NURSYS report within 4 weeks of submission.

Responsibilities

• Med/Surg Telemetry unit setting.
• Average daily census of 25 patients.
• Patient ratio of 1:6.
• Night shift, 3x12 hours (18:45-07:15).
• Every other weekend required, with a minimum of 2 weekends in a 4-week schedule.
• No call-in required.
• First-time travelers accepted.
• Provide care for Med/Surg Telemetry patients including cardiac monitoring and emergency response.
• May be assigned to an Emergency Team during declared events, with expectations to remain onsite or serve as relief staff.
• Must be willing to work 2 of 4 designated holiday periods annually (Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's).
• Scrub color required: Royal Blue.
• Orientation held 5 days a week.
• Two Manager/Supervisor references required prior to starting contract; Charge RNs not accepted as references.
• RTO must be disclosed on profile and discussed during interview to avoid offer rescission.
• Candidates must live more than 65 miles from the facility; local candidates not accepted.
• Previous Ochsner Health permanent staff or in-house agency contractors must have a 1-year separation before returning as travelers.
