Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. is hiring a Med/Surg RN for night shift with a KS or Compact RN license and remote telemetry monitoring experience. You will manage a general medical unit with remote telemetry patients and a 1:5 ratio.

The role requires 3x12 hour nights (18:45-7:15), weekend work, and relocation outside a 50-mile radius. Travel experience and adaptability are preferred for unit floating.

Qualifications

• KS or Compact RN license required.
• ACLS and BLS certifications required; NIHSS preferred.
• Minimum 2 years RN experience.
• Patient ratio experience of 1:5-6 required.
• Epic charting experience preferred; charge nurse experience preferred.
• Skills in IV therapy/phlebotomy, port access/management, central line blood draw, peripheral line care, PICC line management, IV starts/maintenance preferred.
• Respiratory skills including BiPAP/CPAP management, chest tube management, HFNC, ABG interpretation preferred.
• Colostomy/ileostomy and feeding tube care preferred.
• CVAs experience preferred; Heparin and Insulin experience preferred.
• Knowledge of isolation precautions/PPE and wound care/wound vac preferred.
• Hemodialysis/renal failure care preferred; remote telemetry cardiac monitoring experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• General Medical unit caring for a variety of illnesses and conditions.
• Care for stable remote telemetry monitored patients not on cardiac drips.
• Patient ratio of 1:5.
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours (18:45-7:15).
• Floating to like units within scope as needed.
• Weekend work required.
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply for this unit.
• Must reside outside a 50 mile radius of the facility; local candidates not accepted.
• Former permanent staff must have been separated from employment for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler.
• No more than 3 days of RTO will be auto approved; no RTO during first week of orientation.
• Brief onsite orientation provided for floating assignments.
