Job summary

Cross Country Nurses is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg for a travel nursing job in Austin, Texas. The position involves 12-hour night shifts, a 36-hour minimum weekly commitment, and a 13-week contract to backfill a Medical Surgical unit.

Ideal candidates hold an RN license with BLS, telemetry experience, and preferably epilepsy care exposure; NIHSS not required but a plus. Benefits include housing options, health insurance, and travel reimbursement.

Qualifications

• RN license required and BLS certified.
• Telemetry experience preferred for cardiac monitoring.
• Experience with epilepsy care is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive patient care on a Med Surg unit during night shifts.
• Backfill contract role for 13 weeks with 12-hour nights (7:00 PM–7:00 AM).
• Manage a patient load of 5:1 to 6:1 with close collaboration with the care team.
