Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Neuro unit with 12-hour night shifts in Omaha, NE. The role requires an NE or compact RN license and strong neuro/telemetry experience, with a 13-week travel assignment and 36 hours per week.

Two years of RN experience in Med/Surg, BLS and NIHSS are required, plus a valid driver’s license for radius checks. EPIC charting is used; travel perks include housing stipends, benefits from day one, and licensure reimbursement.

Qualifications

• Active NE or compact RN license required at time of consideration; pending licenses not accepted.
• Minimum of 2 years RN experience in a similar Med/Surg setting.
• BLS (AHA) and NIHSS certifications required.
• Driver’s license required to verify address for radius compliance.
• Must pass a unit-specific open book skills exam during orientation with a minimum score of 90%
• No prior direct employment with any CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity Health facility within the past year.

Responsibilities

• Work on the 4th Floor North Med/Surg Neuro unit in a 25-bed hospital.
• Care for Med/Surg, neuro, post-neurosurgery, stroke and telemetry patients.
• Monitor patients with drips and telemetry; use PCA pumps.
• Collaborate with the team to ensure patient-first care and safety.
• Participate in unit orientation and weekend scheduling; provide cross-unit float as needed.
