American Traveler is seeking a Registered Nurse for a float pool Med/Surg role, requiring an active AL or compact RN license and 18 months of MedSurg/ICU experience with EMR familiarity (EPIC or Cerner). BLS and NIHSS certifications are required to ensure high-quality patient care.

The position involves night shifts, 36 hours weekly on a 36/48 schedule, and floating across units in a busy Level II Trauma Center with 492 beds and a Level III NICU.

Qualifications

• Active RN license (AL or compact) required.
• Current BLS and NIHSS certifications required.
• Minimum 18 months of MedSurg and/or ICU experience with EPIC or Cerner experience required.

Responsibilities

• Staff Float Pool MedSurg position within a 492-bed Level II Trauma Center.
• Assigned home unit on first day of orientation (various units).
• 12-hour night shifts, 36 hours per week on a 36/48 schedule.
• 4-week self-scheduling cycle using Smart Square (no self-scheduling).
• Weekend rotation every other weekend or 4 weekend days per month.
• Floating to like units/patient locations as assigned.
• Provide direct patient care including wound care, tube management, and meds administration.
