Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg position requiring a VA or compact license and BLS certification.

Details

• 36-bed Med/Surg unit within the main hospital building
• Day shift staffing includes 1 clinical coordinator, 6 RNs, 3 techs, and 1 unit secretary
• Night shift staffing includes 1 clinical coordinator, 6 RNs, and 2 techs
• Patient ratio of 1:6
• Uses Baxter IV pumps, Medfusion pumps, and SCDs
• 12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• 13-week assignment

Requirements

• Active VA or compact RN license required
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Experience with post-operative patient care preferred
• Competency with dressing changes, wound care, and drain management preferred
• US SSN and DOB required for consideration
• One professional reference required
• No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months

• Provide care for post-operative patients including drain maintenance and wound care
• Team-oriented environment valuing strong patient advocacy and a positive attitude
• Fast-paced unit requiring adaptability
• Navy blue or white scrubs required; no hoodies, pullovers, or t-shirts permitted
