Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a day-shift position requiring a SC or compact RN license and at least 1 year of Med/Surg experience.

Details

Medical Surgical unit within a 28-bed inpatient hospital
Patient ratios of 1:6-7
Day shift, 3x12 hours (7a-7p)
Every other weekend requirement with holiday rotation
No on-call requirement
Floating within scope required to meet facility needs
Uses Epic charting system

Requirements

Active SC RN license or compact license in hand prior to start
BLS certification (AHA) required
Minimum 1 year of Med/Surg nursing experience required
Experience with any charting system required
Skills in IV therapy/phlebotomy, port access/management, blood product administration, and peripheral line care
Experience with oxygen administration, nasal cannula, and oral suctioning
Knowledge of isolation precautions and PPE use
Driver's license and Social Security number required for consideration

Additional Information

Provide Med/Surg nursing care including IV therapy, wound care, and respiratory support
Block scheduling may be requested but is not guaranteed
First-time travelers are welcome to apply
Previous MUSC perm or PRN staff must be separated from the system for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
Facility prioritizes non-local candidates within a 60-mile radius; local candidates not accepted
All requested time off must be submitted at the time of application
Travelers may be assigned to emergency response teams during hurricane season (June through November)
Facility may cancel up to 1 shift per 2-week period
