American Traveler, LLC. is seeking a Forensics RN with SANE certification for a contract position in Fairbanks, AK. The role requires an active Alaska RN license and on-call availability.

Responsibilities include floating between the hospital and the Child Advocacy Center, serving both adult and pediatric patients on 12-hour shifts. Travel, housing allowances, and licensure reimbursements are among benefits offered.

Qualifications

• Active AK RN license required; if not active at time of offer, must apply within 24 hours of acceptance
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 2+ years of RN experience required
• Minimum 1+ recent year of experience as a Forensics RN with SANE certification required
• New graduates will not be considered
• Must mail fingerprints to the Alaska Department of Health and Services within 48 hours of offer acceptance

Responsibilities

• Forensics nursing role serving both adult and pediatric patients
• Floats between the hospital and the Child Advocacy Center (5-minute drive from hospital)
• Reliable transportation required for floating between sites
• 12-hour day and night shifts, typically 4:00am-4:30pm or 3:30pm-4:00am
• 4 overnight hours per shift may be worked from home
• Weekend availability required for on‑call coverage
• On-call typically every 5th weekend plus 1 full week of rotating call outside normal working hours
• Holiday requirement based on unit needs
• Provide forensic nursing care and examinations for adult and pediatric patients
• Candidates will be pre-screened by the clinical team via a 30-minute Teams call
• Must have reliable personal vehicle for transportation, as winter walking is not recommended
• Up to 14 days of RTO may be requested, including a maximum of 4 weekend shifts, and must be submitted at time of application
• Candidate's permanent residence must be located 50+ miles outside of Fairbanks
• First-time travelers are not specified as accepted given the experience requirements for this specialty role
