Qualifications

• BLS certification required.
• Competency exam required.
• Labor & Delivery (L&D) experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Pre-Labor and Admission Assessment: gather health histories, vitals, and perform assessments.
• Labor Support and Monitoring: monitor contractions, fetal heart tones, and maternal vitals; administer meds as prescribed.
• Assisting with Delivery: assist obstetricians during vaginal and cesarean deliveries; newborn care.
• Postpartum Care: monitor mother and newborn recovery; support breastfeeding.
• Documentation and Reporting: detailed charting in EHR; ensure accuracy and compliance.
