Job summary

Fusion Medical Staffing is seeking a Labor and Delivery RN for a 12-week travel assignment in Urbana, IL. You will provide obstetric care, support families, and collaborate with physicians and nurses to maintain patient safety and high-quality outcomes.

Start ASAP; 36 hours per week, night shifts. Requires 1 year of L&D experience, IL RN license, BLS, and NRP; additional certifications preferred.

Qualifications

• One year's recent experience as a Labor and Delivery RN.
• Valid RN license in Illinois (state regulations).
• Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC).
• NRP certification.

Responsibilities

• Communicate labor and delivery procedures to patients and families.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments per obstetric nursing techniques.
• Prepare equipment and assist physician during labor, delivery, and exams.
• Provide immediate postpartum care and stabilize mother/newborn.
• Educate patients on postpartum recovery, breastfeeding, and newborn care.
• Collaborate with obstetricians, anesthesiologists, neonatologists, and teams.
• Respond to obstetric emergencies using evidence-based protocols.
• Document patient care, assessments, and interventions in the medical record.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives for maternal/neonatal outcomes.
• Perform fetal monitoring and interpret results.
• Assist in cesarean sections and other obstetric procedures.
• Comply with regulatory standards and hospital policies.
