Job summary

Fusion Medical Staffing is seeking a travel Labor and Delivery RN for a 15-week assignment in Peoria, Illinois. This role offers 36 hours per week, night shifts, and comprehensive benefits through a travel program.

The ideal candidate will have 1 year of L&D RN experience, active RN license, BLS, and NRP certification, with preferred STABLE/ACLS credentials. You will deliver compassionate obstetric care, monitor fetal status, and support the care team in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• 1 year recent Labor and Delivery RN experience.
• Active RN license and state compliance.
• Current BLS (AHA/ARC).
• NRP certification required.
• STABLE and ACLS preferred; other certs may be required.

Responsibilities

• Communicate labor and delivery procedures to patients and families.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments per obstetric nursing techniques.
• Prepare equipment and assist physician during labor, delivery, and exams.
• Provide immediate postpartum care and newborn assessment.
• Educate patients on postpartum recovery, breastfeeding, and newborn care.
• Collaborate with obstetricians, anesthesiologists, neonatologists, and team members.
• Respond to obstetric emergencies using evidence-based protocols.
• Document care in the medical record and participate in quality improvement.
