Job summary
American Traveler Staffing Professionals is recruiting a Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse for a 12-hour night shift assignment in Bangor, Maine. A minimum of 2 years L&D experience and Maine/compact licensure are required, with travel RN experience preferred.
The role involves high-acuity labor, delivery, and postpartum care in a NICU/large unit, with comprehensive benefits and 24/7 support from the facility team.
Qualifications
- Active RN license (Maine or Compact) required.
- Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery experience.
- Travel nursing experience at a facility of similar size and acuity.
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP, Intermediate or Advanced FHM, MOAB.
- Experience with Pitocin titration, fetal scalp electrode placement, cervical exams, and epidural assistance.
- Experience managing insulin and magnesium drips.
- Shoulder dystocia management and circulating for C-sections.
- Neonatal resuscitation and receiving babies in the OR.
- IUPC placement and monitoring.
- Lactation support and skin-to-skin protocol compliance.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care across labor, delivery, and postpartum stages including high-risk conditions.
- Support newborn care including feeding, vitals, and continuous surveillance.
- Unit is staffed by 24/7 charge nurse, CST, anesthesia, RT, house supervisor, OB provider coverage.
- Certified Lactation Consultants available to assist in labor rooms.
- Orientation includes HR/preceptor, OR/PACU training, and preceptor on contracted shift.
