Job summary

American Traveler is seeking a Labor & Delivery RN for a low-volume OB unit in rural Maine. The unit has 25 beds in a critical access hospital, with 12-hour night shifts and anesthesia support available.

Candidates must hold an active Maine or Compact RN license and current BLS/NRP/STABLE certifications, with 1+ year L&D experience. ACLS and AWHONN fetal monitoring certifications are preferred. Travel housing and licensure reimbursements are provided.

Qualifications

• Active RN license (Compact or Maine) required.
• Minimum 1 year of Labor & Delivery experience.
• Current BLS, NRP, and STABLE certifications required.
• ACLS certification preferred.
• Intermediate or Advanced Fetal Monitoring (AWHONN) preferred.
• 2 references within the past year from supervisor/manager/director (Charge RN acceptable).
• Must not have previously worked in a permanent capacity at any Northern Light Health hospital.
• Radius requirement applies based on distance from the facility.

Responsibilities

• Work in a critical access hospital's OB-GYN unit with 25 beds.
• Unit includes 2 LDR/OK rooms, 1 Triage room, 3 postpartum/gynecological rooms, and a newborn nursery.
• Low birth volume department with <125 births per year.
• May float to low-acuity med-surg during low census.
• Use Cerner charting system.
• 12-hour night shifts (7P-7A), 36 hours per week.
• Anesthesia services available 24/7 for unit support.
• Provide direct patient care in labor, delivery, recovery, postpartum, and newborn nursery settings.
• Work under department leadership with dedicated anesthesia support.
• Free on-site parking.
• Flu vaccination required for clearance to start (exemptions via facility approval).
• Radius-based distance approvals.
