Job summary

American Traveler is hiring a night shift ICU RN with a KY or compact license for a high-acuity medical/surgical ICU in Kentucky. The role is a travel assignment with 3x12 shifts (7p-7a) and requires residency within 75 miles; locals may receive a lower rate.

Must hold RN license (KY or Compact), BLS/ACLS, and annual dysrhythmia validation. ADN/ASN required; BSN preferred. First-time travelers are welcome to apply.

Qualifications

• ADN or ASN degree required; BSN preferred
• No prior nursing experience required (preferred)

Responsibilities

• 21-bed ICU medical/surgical unit with high-acuity patients
• Care for cardiac interventions, SARS, cardiogenic shock, rotoprone, post-partum critical care
• 3x12s night shift schedule, 7pm–7am
• Work weekends and holidays as needed
• Provide direct patient care, assessments, treatments, and coordination
• Facilitate admissions, transfers, discharges with family education
• Delegate and oversee care activities of others
• Participate in unit quality improvement and core measures
• Residents within 75 miles of facility; locals accepted at lower rate

Requirements

• Active, unrestricted RN license (KY or Compact)
• Current BLS and ACLS certification
• Annual Dysrhythmia Competency Validation required
• ADN or ASN required; BSN preferred
• No prior nursing experience required, though previous experience is preferred
• Last 4 digits of SSN and month/day of DOB required for consideration

Responsibilities

• 21-bed medical/surgical ICU serving high acuity medical ICU patients
• Patient population includes cardiac interventions, SARS, cardiogenic shock, rotoprone therapy, post-partum critical care, and complex medical/cardiac ICU patients
• Third shift schedule: 3x12s, 7p-7a
• Weekends and holidays as needed
• Provide direct patient care including assessments, treatments, and care coordination for ICU patients
• Facilitate admission, transfer, and discharge processes with patient and family-centered education
• Delegate and oversee care activities performed by other team members
• Participate in unit-based quality improvement initiatives and core measures
• Candidates must reside within 75 miles of the facility, though local candidates are accepted at a lower rate
